RWGPS Route Links
The Routes This week we'll start at the nearby Fine Balance Brewing Company, and head up into the quiet farming countryside east and north of the city.
Route Revisions The routes have recently been revised to avoid some new construction on Abby Dawn Rd and several stretches of degraded pavement on the roads north of the 401. Please be sure to use the revised versions in the link above, and not the versions used last May.
Car Pooling Please consider!
Post Ride Refreshments After the ride we'll head into the Fine Balance Brewing Company for some chatter and post ride victuals. For folks who appreciate their beer, Fine Balance has some wonderful offerings, all brewed on the premises. There's also a great coffee bar.
Safety/Ride Preparation
- Safety Matters Familiarize yourself with everything under the "Safety Matters" tab
- Lights Use front and rear lights
- Group Riding Communicate your movements (including speed changes) and any obstacles
- No Wheel Overlapping Just don't do it!
- Passing Always on the left, and call it out (typically, "on your left")
- Traffic Laws Obey them!
- Things to Bring
- cell phone (if available), with the app "what3words" installed
- copy of the route (downloaded to a mobile device or printed)
- spare tube, pump and tool kit
- sufficient hydration and nutrition
- health card and document showing address and emergency contact information
