MID WEEK STRETCH


Mid-Week Stretch rides (otherwise known as the Horsie Rides) are the perfect way to end the day and bridge the gap between weekend rides.  The rides are hosted every Wednesday night and run from May to end of Sept.  All rides in this series depart from the Cataraqui Arena, 1030 Sunnyside Rd, Kingston and head towards the Inverary / Latimer areaOccasionally we will have ride and dine events in the Kingston area in lieu of the Latimer rides.


Ride distances will start around 30-35k and stretch out to 40k+ as the season progresses, taking advantage of long summer, sunlight conditions.  Rides start at 6:00pm, however to accommodate shorter days towards the end of the program (late August and September), start time will back up to 5:30pm and 5:00pm and distances will be back in the 30-35k range. Rides are rated category C - 19 - 24kph, although we tend towards the high end of that range.

Note that in previous years, we’ve been able to split into a longer, faster ride and a somewhat shorter, slower one.  However with a shortage of ride leaders, there will only be one group this year.  Still, many of the rides have natural shortcuts if you need to trim some distance.
