Mother's Day Many of us will want to spend today with our families. However, if you are free to ride on this special day, we're going to head out to beautiful Hay Bay. After the ride, riders (and families if available) are invited to drop into Old Style Barbeque (see below) for some Mother's Day nourishment.

To make this day extra special, AKA Aerosnapper will be filming our rides for us, both during the ride and then when we get back - how cool is that?

The Routes There'll be short, medium, long and extra long routes (D-34/44, C-60, B-69 or A-119 km).  On three of the routes you'll travel quiet country roads along the scenic north shore of Hay Bay, riding past the sunflower fields.  The longest route also travels along the south shore of Hay Bay.

Pace Groups  When registering, be sure to indicate your preferred pace group:

  • the short and medium routes will generally be ridden at a D or C pace
  • the long and extra long routes will generally be ridden at a B or A pace

Ride Preparation  You should be familiar with Ontario's Safe Cycling Guidelines, and bring the following with you on the ride:

  • a cell phone, with the app "what3words" installed
  • a copy of the ride route (downloaded to a mobile device or printed)
  • a spare tube, pump and repair kit
  • sufficient hydration and nutrition
  • health card
  • document showing address and emergency contact information
Post Ride Refreshments We'll head into Old Style Barbeque where we'll be parked. It's part of MacKinnon Brothers Brewing Company.

The Saddle up Sundays Program Our program aims to offer a Sunday cycling outing for all levels of riders on a varied collection of the most scenic and the safest country roads close to Kingston. The rides include stops at the best coffee shops along the way, and finish up with refreshments at some great restaurants. We’re a work in progress, so please feel free to suggest modifications to our program.
